Submission Guidelines

Welcome to the online submission portal for the Journal of Policy and Governance Inquiry (JPGI). Please review the steps below before starting your manuscript submission.

1. PRE-SUBMISSION CHECKLIST

Prior to logging into our submission system, authors must ensure that their submission package contains the following components:

  • Formatted Manuscript: Complete Microsoft Word (.docx) file adhering strictly to the Manuscript Preparation rules.
  • Abstract & Keywords: Structured abstract (maximum 250 words) with 3–5 keywords.
  • Author Metadata: Full names, designations, institutional affiliations, mobile numbers, official email addresses, and ORCID IDs for all co-authors.
  • Corresponding Author: Identified with an asterisk (*) next to their superscript designation.
  • Originality Statement: Confirmation that the manuscript is original, unpublished, and not currently under evaluation by another journal.

2. STEP-BY-STEP SUBMISSION PROCESS

Step 1: Account Registration / Login Visit our online portal. First-time authors must create an account by clicking Register. Existing user account holders can directly Login using their credentials.
Step 2: Start New Submission Navigate to your user dashboard and click Make a New Submission. Select the appropriate journal section (e.g., Research Articles, Policy Perspectives, or Review Essays).
Step 3: Upload Manuscript & Files Upload your main manuscript file (.docx). Any high-resolution figures, supplementary material, or data tables can be uploaded as additional supporting files.
Step 4: Enter Submission Metadata Enter the article title, abstract, keywords, and reference list into the designated system metadata fields. Add all co-authors to ensure proper indexing.
Step 5: Confirm & Submit Review your complete submission summary for accuracy, accept the submission terms, and click Finish Submission. An automated confirmation email with a submission tracking ID will be dispatched immediately.

3. PEER REVIEW & TRACKING STATUS

All manuscripts submitted to JPGI undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure scholarly quality and integrity.

  • Initial Desk Assessment: Within 1–2 weeks of submission, manuscripts are reviewed by the editorial office for scope alignment, formatting compliance, and plagiarism checks.
  • Peer Review Stage: Manuscripts meeting desk standards are assigned to expert reviewers. Authors can log in to their dashboard at any time to monitor real-time review progress.
  • Editorial Decision: Initial peer review decisions (Accept, Revisions Required, or Reject) are typically issued within 4 to 6 weeks.
